Mario Sampler Finished!

Woohoo! I have another finish to report! This one has taken me far longer than it should have but as I mentioned in a previous post I have this weird block when it comes to stitching my own designs.

Without further ado, here's my completed Mario Sampler:

I ended up changing quite a few colours as I went along, the design software doesn't really represent the colours accurately at all I've found.

I also changed the bottom part of the design to be a block pattern.

I've updated the pattern file and have added it here and on my freebies page if anyone wants to stitch it :)

Some Stitchy Stuff :)

After finishing Woodland Sampler I decided to pick up Angel of Summer (L&L) for a bit and see how far I could get, here's my before and after pics

Really pleased with my progress on this and I'm hoping I can keep going with it until it's finished, I must say, the thought of all that beading is putting me off a bit. This will be my first piece with lots of beads, if you have any tips for me I'd love to hear them :)

I've also finished part 2 of the AAN Facebook SAL - Halloween Town. It was a hoooge chunk of stitching but a nice contrast to Angel of Summer as it's mostly blocks of colour whereas Angel has a fair bit of confetti.

Since my last post I've bought a slow cooker and become obsessed with it! I'm a fairly lazy person when it comes to cooking so I love the idea of piling lots of stuff in a pot and forgetting about it. The problem is I'm spending far too long browsing for recipes and deciding what to cook, also, all my favourites so far have been desserts, I'm going to have to start exercising :(

Tonight has been spent drinking wine and looking at random internet stuff instead of stitching and I'm doing a charity walk on Sunday (the furthest I've walked since this same event last year is from my work's car park to the office, wish me luck!) so I think I'll pick out something small to work on tomorrow, maybe the Mario sampler.

Hope you all have a fab weekend x

Woodland Sampler Finished! :D

Hooray! My first finish of the new year!

This is Woodland Sampler by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, here are the last two squares filled in:

And here is the whole sampler:

I'm so pleased with this one, time to go frame shopping when I get paid, or maybe a hanger? What do you guys think?

Also need to decide what project to focus on next, I may do some work on Angel of Summer for a bit, try and get some stitches in that before I become too tempted to start something new :)

Stitchy bug is back!

Although I have been stitching off and on I can feel the obsession coming back in force now. Although the motivation is still lacking, my pace is picking up a bit and I'm spending hours looking at potential stash online *sigh*

Anyway I had a look through my WIP drawer last week and photographed my progress on all my current projects, here we go:

Song of the Weather SAL - Mabel Figworthy
This started in January last year, I kind of stopped stitching in July so it's only half done, six squares to go

Summer Tree of Stitches SAL - The Stitch Specialists
Again I started well but haven't managed to progress beyond part 4 of 12

Angel of Summer - Lavender & Lace
I didn't really get much progress on this one last year, I probably wouldn't choose to stitch this now but I don't dislike it enough not to finish it, I think it's the fabric that's putting me off, it's stitched on aida which I tend to avoid now.

A water themed biscornu
This is my own design, I've stitched the first side but then decided I might want to do something different on the back so it's sat unfinished until inspiration hits me :)

Deep Blue Sea - Chatelaine 2012 SAL
Again little or no progress on this last year, I love it a lot so I really want to get stuck in this year

Hmpf! - HAED
Got one page finished on this last year after restarting it to switch to tent stitch, I hope to get a few more pages complete this year

Mario Sampler
I really don't know why I haven't finished this, I seem to have a problem stitching my own designs which is weird, I think this is what puts me off designing more, I love to design them but not to stitch them!

Dessert of the Month - Frosted Pumpkin
Barely started this one but the designs are nice and small so I'll try and stitch one each month this year.

Another unfinished biscornu
Again one of my own designs, I think I'm going to have to find someone to stitch my designs for me! this is getting ridiculous :)

So that's all my WIPS, just before Christmas I stitched this as a gift for my parents, Welcome to the Nuthouse by Waxing Moon Designs, hooray! a finish!

And this is what I've been working on this year so far:

Woodland Sampler (Frosted Pumpkin) - August, September and October completed

And not that I needed it but I've joined another SAL, the Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks Halloween Town SAL (Facebook group). This is part 1 completed

New Shop Pattern - Hi Robot!

Hello all!

I've created a new little pattern and listed it on the Etsy today:

Hi Robot!
(He's saying "hi" in binary - gave me a giggle anyway)

I'm determined to have a whole collection of robot patterns, they're so cute and fun to stitch. I made this one into a coaster.

In other news I also stitched a bookmark for my nan's birthday, the pattern is from a book called Chouettes Alors which I got from Amazon

Hope you all have a fab stitchy weekend :D

Stitchy update & more goodies!

Since finishing my halloween sampler I've been struggling to decide what to focus on next, I decided to get a page of my HAED finished while I was thinking about it :)

Here's what the finished design will look like

and here's my first completed page stitched 2 over 1 tent stitch on 25 count.

I also received some goodies today from the lovely Janet in my RAK group at the Stitch Specialists, I love everything but especially the little snail tape measure! I've already started munching the choccies, oh dear!

I think I'm going to try and catch up on one or two of my SAL's this weekend as I haven't stitched on them since June! wish me luck :)

At last, a finish!

Hi all, sorry again for not blogging regularly but I haven't really had much to report until today.

I've finally got something finished, my L*K Mystery Halloween Sampler, woohoo!

I decided to finish it as a hanging and chose some cute halloween fabric to back it with, it's the first time I've made stitching into a hanging so I'm quite pleased with myself :)

Here's some piccies

In other news the awesome Ruth from my RAK group over at the Stitch Specialists has spoiled me with lots of gorgeous threads which I received in the mail today, I'm so pleased with them!!

I've been a bit behind sending my parcels out but hope she'll love what I'm sending as much as I love these :)
