A WIP and a little finish :)

This first pic was supposed to be my entry for the Sprite Stitch February Challenge, unfortunately for one reason or another I haven't been able to stitch for over a week and so I couldn't make the deadline for this, I'm still looking forward to finishing it though :)

Psyduck <3 Slowpoke :D

I decided I wanted to do something quick tonight that I could start and finish without too much effort so I decided to stitch the predator wrist bomb countdown (I don't know where the idea came from so don't ask!) Pics arent the best due to the terrible light in this room but I'm rather pleased with it :D

Hidden Treasure!

Today I've been doing a spot of decluttering, I couldn't believe the stuff I came across and couldn't begin to guess why I'd kept half of it!

A good example - I found a bag full of hair elastics and scrunchies from my long hair days... which ended like 3 years ago!!! Talk about hoarding!

Anyway, I was just about to throw the whole lot in the bin when I noticed the amount of sparkly bits and beads on some of them and I got inspired to do a bit of recycling :D I also found a ton of spare buttons from long gone clothes etc which were hiding in various nooks and crannies of the room, and finally I sorted out my jewellery box, recycling the broken junky pieces.

Look at the end result! All this new stash for free! :D

Here are a couple of my favourite finds from this lot :D

I'm off to gloat over my treasure some more hehe!

Felt Randomness Part 2!

It turns out making tiny useless things out of felt is quite fun! Someone in work saw the first gingerbread man I made and asked if I'd make one so that was my first task of the evening, here he is :D

I then decided to finish the kokeshi doll I started last night, there are a few things I'd do differently for my next version of this, I'm not happy with the face and next time I'll pin the doll to the backing felt before cutting it rather than the other way around but it's still cute!

Last but not least I wanted to make something for my Jack Russell Minnie's collar, so I made this pink "M". It's probably a little on the large side but it looks so sweet on her pink collar and it was an excuse to get the button jar out so I'm happy! I want to make one for my other dog Montie tomorrow :D

I notice that my blanket stitch is getting neater with each piece I make so I'm very pleased with myself today!

Felt Randomness...

Well I was looking for something to distract me tonight, Sunday nights are horrible for me so I need to keep busy. Didn't really fancy stitching but I had this stack of felt in my craft drawer which had been there ages so I amused myself by making some random little things with it :)

Now I'm off to find something else to do :D

Crazy January Challenge - Project 4 Finished (Blackwork Robot!)

Another finish today! This is my own design, a cute little blackwork robot :D

I've wanted to try blackwork for a while because I love the patterns and shapes but didn't see any designs that jumped out at me, one day this little guy popped into my head and here he is all stitched up with little button eyes :)

The pattern is available in my etsy shop (link on the right)

I'm sure he'll have some robot friends before too long because I really enjoyed both designing and stitching him.

Valentine Biscornu Exchange

My recipient has received my biscornu now so I can finally share piccies with you, I'm very pleased with this one :)

Shame my roses came out a little stripy but the colours are awesome!

I stitched it on linen type fabric using threadworx floss, I added some little buttons to the corners and also sent along a small selection of buttons and wrapped the whole thing in a pretty pink ribbon, wish I'd remembered to take a photo of it like that :D

Deadpool!

I'm so excited to have finished this one! It's the first time I've charted a comic book character and I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.

I stitched this for my friend who is a Deadpool fan to go with some comics I bought him so I hope he likes it as much as I do :D

I stitched it on 16ct sky blue aida with DMC threads, I altered a few colours as I was going along as my LNS is terrible lately and only has a very small selection of thread, I ended up making do with what I had in my stash. The finished design is 50 wide by 68 high, I have a lovely red frame for it but need to get a mount, I'll post another pic once that's done but here he is:

Valentine Biscornu Exchange

I've been taking part in a biscornu exchange on the Cross Stitch Forum and received mine from the lovely pixxie today! Look at all the work that's gone into this, it's soooo pretty :D

Can't wait to post up some piccies of mine but must restrain myself until the person I sent it to has received it!

Here's some piccies of the one pixxie sent me <3

I've just redecorated my living room so I'm planning on getting a hooge bowl for my coffee table and filling it with all the pretty things I get from these exchanges :D
