A finish, a freebie and an update :)

I can finally show you the bookmark I did for a recent exchange on facebook group Cross stitch friends in the UK, here it is!

I stitched him on aida band with a lovely blue edging and added blue felt at the back and some pretty ribbon to finish it off :) I'm offering the pattern as a freebie if anyone else would like to stitch him:

I also have an update on one of my January Challenge pieces, HAED SAL Blue Rose Fairy. I haven't had much time to work on this what with one thing and another so it was nice to be able to pick it up again, starting to see a tiny bit of detail in there now too which makes me want to keep going.

I have some serious stitching to do though if I want to finish her this year!!

This is where I left her at my last update:

And here's where I am now!

Hope to have another update on this one shortly, happy stitching all!

Sunday Crafternoon 2

Mam came to visit again this afternoon so we could do some crafting. We decided to make some fabric boxes from a pattern I had in a magazine and we had great fun putting them together :D

Here are the results, mam made the blue one to use as a gift box for a friend's birthday so she's going to fill it with lovely goodies and I made the pink and red one to store my random skeins of thread that don't have a home in my other storage boxes

I'd like to make some little ones now for my buttons and other bits and bobs, really brighten up my desk a bit!

Happy Easter everyone xx

New on my Etsy store, embroidered wall hanging

This one is slightly naughty! Hope I don't offend anybody hehehe!

I'm going to stitch these to order so feel free to specify a different floss colour if you prefer, the design can also be stitched on blue or yellow gingham fabric.

I'm working on a bookmark at the moment for an exchange on Facebook group Cross Stitch Friends in the UK so I can't show that until it's been posted, I plan to add that pattern here as a freebie too so keep checking back!

In the meantime here's a little design I've been playing with, poor little cupcake! hope you enjoy :)

I came across this quirky little freebie on the Plum Street Samplers website and just had to stitch it! I took the opportunity to use some pink sparkly hand dyed fabric from a Polstitches grab bag and used Dragon Floss in "Outrageous"

Super bright and cheery! Might finish this as a little hanging pillow with some funky fabric on the back.

I won an award! :O

I should have posted this a while ago but life kind of got in the way so here it is, a little late! Huge thanks to both Wired to my world and The world according to Agi who gave me this Stylish Blogger award :D

There are some rules to follow on receiving the award so here goes:

1) Thank the person who awarded you
already taken care of that one!

2) List 7 things about myself
  • I'm not only lucky enough to live in beautiful Wales but I also speak the language, something I'm rather proud of and not enough people do anymore
  • I've dabbled in many kinds of crafts including card making, jewellery making and various kinds of needlework
  • I live for my gorgeous doglets Montie and Minnie (obligatory cheesy dog photo coming up!)

  • I love reading sci-fi and fantasy fiction and right now have a pile of 7 books waiting to be read including the latest Wheel of Time book and the latest Peter Hamilton, I can't keep up!
  • I also like playing MMOs which along with my books seriously detract from my stitching time! Games I play or have played are:
    • World of Warcraft
    • EvE Online (still my all time fave)
    • Ultima Online
    • Lord of the Rings Online
    • Champions Online
    • Atlantica Online
  • One of my favourite things is giving people presents, such a great feeling to make people happy :D
  • I own far too many bags! I have a bag cupboard which I recently cleared out and now I need to have a massive ebay fest to make room for newer shinier bags :D
3) Pass the award to 15 other stylish bloggers
There are so many.......

I could list so many more, I'm inspired by all of the blogs I follow, there are so many crazy creative people out there.

TUSAL - April Update

Well it's that time of the month again, here's my jar!

March wasn't a great stitching month for me really due to work being busy and stuff, hoping it'll pick up a bit in April, I'm full of ideas but kind of lacking in motivation hehe!
